Finding formal dresses for your shape

Sometimes a formal dress may look great on the model but doesn’t flatter your shape when you try it on.  Any formal dresses online you may find should make you feel comfortable and fit just the way you want it to.  The following tips will help you find the right look for your shape when looking for formal or semi-formal dresses.

Petite:  If you are a petite lady a great pair of heels is probably on your feet at all times.  Short formal dresses with a short hem will make your legs look long.  If however you need to find long formal dresses, find a form fitting one that falls to the floor and fits well.  Extra fabric that drapes and fits loose is too much for your petite body.

Small Bust:  Small busted ladies look great in low cut v neck long formal dresses.  If you have this body type you can wear stick on bras for a dress with a low v neck and low sides.  If you want to make your bust appear larger, go with a dress with more embellishment on the top.  To accomplish this, a smaller v neck can provide the illusion that you have a fuller bust better than a straight neckline.

Big Bust:  On the opposite end of the spectrum, big busty ladies should start with a comfortable full coverage bra.  Sleeveless formalevening dresses are fine as long as they fit loose on the top with a natural cinch at the waist.

No curves:  If you want to appear like you have an hourglass figure you can find a short semi-formal dress that cinches at the waist and flares at the bottom helps create curves.  A line dresses or flare dresses can help you achieve this look.
